Election: Philippines Most Lively Carnival
Majority of us Filipinos are very fond of anticipating when it comes to special occasions. Christmas, New Year and even Birthdays, these are only few of the celebrations where in we spend a lot of money to assure good food, good setting and of course, unique experience. Three (3) to four (4) months is the duration we allot to prepare for the upcoming event or celebration.
Which of the Celebrations takes the longest preparation? The Christmas? Enggggg! You got the wrong answer. How About the New Year? Oh no, please try again. Do you want to find out the answer? If No, stop reading here but if the answer is yes then continue reading.
Aren’t you remembering any big event happening this May? You got it correct, Its Carnival Time Again, time for the slum kids to have their television ad, time for the poor coffee harvester to be interviewed and be viewed in the national television, time for the fish vendor to be hug by a “premature celebrity “. Too bad for them, now is the time for them to be USED, and whom will benefit from their TV appearances? It’s no one but those kings and queens of the noisy and dirty palace of politics.
It takes years to prepare for an electoral candidacy, and yeah, lot money to continue the “monkey race”. This is the most anticipated and the most expensive event so far. I feel sorry for them; they are so desperate to have a big number of “visitors” to eat what they have prepared.
Who’s your bet? Or should I say, what’s your favorite color? Are you going for the yellow? Are you going for the green? Are you going for the oranges and the others? Be careful because sometimes colors are deceiving. We are being blinded by their brightness, luminance and even their saturation. I hope you guys know how to read between the lines.
