Last saturday night i was able to watch "Kapuso mo, Jessica Soho" show at GMA network, (which i always do every saturday, heheh, hobby na) As usual the show once again featured unique stories, when i say unique as in never been featured in any local television network here in the Philippines.

It was so overwhelming in my part as a Filipino to learn that there are a lot of foreigners who love our country so much that they even want to live here forever. The show featured a former french journalist who was so inlove with our country that he decided to leave his profession and pursue his singing career here, and mind you, his first recorded song was in Filipino, although some parts are sang in French. Julien Drolon is the name of the guy and here is his own version of "Ipagpatawad mo" hope you like it too like i did. In the video is Ms. Universe 2010 3rd runner up

After months of being rested at home, bored and idle i decided to look for a job while waiting for the month of june to come. A friend told me that a small scale contact center exist in the old district of the city. I had my resume submitted, interviewed, trained for 2 weeks and was hired. I’m still on the process of learning and i’m quite happy to be with my new colleagues for they are helping me out with the things that i need to know.

This is the second outbound account i’ve had in my customer service experience, this one is somewhat related to my first outbound account way back in my former company. The similarity is that both of the accounts has something to do with medicine. Before we were selling vigra, phentermine and other meds but this time its all about diabetic stuff but the difference is that this one is quite easy.

Im still on the learning curve process and hopefully get through my first month as an employee in a high note (more sales). Oh by the way before i forgot, i go to work as early as 4:00 o’clock in the morning.

No one can stop her this time; Charice is officially joining Glee’s next season. She will play as a foreign exchange student to give Rachel (Lea Michelle) a good competition. The news first came out from her Philippine manager during an interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer and here’s the exact phrases; “Yes, it’s true, Charice will soon join Glee,” and then was denied by Charice on her tweeter account but now she’s going straight to the top rated “dramedy” show.

Should you be careful in expressing yourself in Social Media?

Feeling sad for the break-up then have some tweet, who knows, your followers might give you their best advices. Mad at your Physics teacher? Why not have some post on your facebook. There’s no questioning, social media is fast becoming one of the best effective channels to express ourselves today. You can freely have your say without being kicked out of school after punching your Physics teacher.

I’m just done reading an article about a teenage office worker who was fired for moaning on facebook her “totally boring” job. I’m not kidding, you heard it right, an office worker kicked out of work because of facebook, it may sound silly but it’s true. I mean happening.

Now let us come to a realization and a decision at the same time; should we really be careful in expressing ourselves in social media? Well the answer depends on how you are ready to face the consequences of your decision. If you are brave enough then go for it. We cannot dictate other people on what to say and what not to say, it’s their own lives anyways and they are the ones who will suffer from its upshots.

You know what’s best in eating as a group? You come to discuss of weird but funny things. This lunch I made a small joke about the thing called “pap smear” I was not expecting that my co-workers will take it seriously; the word became a point of discussion among us. The arguments were interesting, each of us shared their own opinions about the topic and too bad for I wasn’t able to record the forum-like discussion.

We’ve tackled serious issues concerning birth control method, the judgment of the church with regards to family planning and a lot more. I thought that the group chat would end as we finish our lunch. I was lost (not totally) to find another topic in front of us and this time it’s all about two things; SEX and RELATIONSHIP.

I asked my co-worker the exact number of boyfriends she had before and of course she refused to give the exact but here’s the shocking part, she revealed that she made a break-up with 2 because of 1 reason and what was the reason for the said break-ups? These boys asked her to have sex with them and if ever she will not give in; they (the guys) will initiate the break-up, how desperate these creatures are. Familiar with this line “ Sige pag hindi ka nakipag-talik saakin break na tayo” ? That’s what I’m talking about.

Why is it that some guys’ think that SEX is always included in the package of relationship? Is that what they call love? I guess not because if you really love a person, you will respect your partner’s decision and set aside your personal interest. I mean who does not want to have sex with the person we love right? Yeah right, sex is somewhat to be considered a pleasure because it really gives us pleasure but don’t ever forget that it is also a sacred thing, to be done at the right time, right place and with the right person.

Good thing my co-worker was not that lusty. If you are reading this post, I salute you for letting that bastard go. He’s not worthy of your love. To all who are also experiencing the same thing well use your head! Be intelligent in determining love from itch.

U-kiss Pinoy Fans: Now it’s GMA network’s mistake

Let’s admit it U-Kiss is famous among Pinoy Kpop boy band lovers though I’m not a big fan of the group. As far as I can remember they’ve first visited the country way back march this year. During their first time they’ve visited Party Pilipinas. Their first visit was controversial, a controversy sparked by DJ Mo twister for branding the group as gays or lesbians. They came back for their concert yesterday and it seems that they are not just lucky in letting “7” anchor their promotion in the country. They appeared in Showbiz Central same network and another big mistake was committed and now it’s the network. The staffs mistakenly showed picture of Super Junior’s Kibum instead of showing U-kiss’ own Kibum. Their pinoy fans enraged with so much anger that they want a sincere public apology from the network.

College Diploma: Ticket to a better job?

On my way to work today I’ve seen some of my schoolmates in college, I’ve seen 3 of them to be exact, two of them are graduates of two year computer-related courses and the remaining is a graduate of a 4 year course. They are very lucky indeed for they were able to have their college diplomas but seeing them made me feel luckier, why?

I haven’t finished my college but was able to land a job related to my course. Ok I’ll set it straight; I’ve seen the two of them working in a small Chinese enterprise located at the central business district of the city and the other one, standing at the corner of a bakeshop selling cheap cellular sim cards for the price of 10 pesos, and most frustrating; this person that I am referring to is the one with bachelors degree.

See the case? They all have their diplomas but were they able to land a good job? I am not against them for at least they did find some work after graduation but the point there is “what’s the use of going to college if you will not be able to apply what you have learned”. I must say that Diploma is not an assurance for a better job, maybe it’s an advantage but it will never be as what it is dubbed to be.

The feeling is quite rewarding for a web marketing specialist like me considering the fact that the owner of the blog appreciated you as his visitor. I must admit that at first the reason for visiting the blog was just pure SEO, that was then, the blog posts are great that I was able to appreciate them all. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) proclaimed on Monday 27 party-list groups, whose nominees will occupy 35 of 57 seats available for marginalized sectors in the House of Representatives.

The 27 party-list groups and their respective number of seats are: Coalition of Association of Senior Citizens in the Philippines – 1,292,182 votes (2 seats); Akbayan Citizen's Action Party – 1,058,691 votes (2 seats); Gabriela Women's Party – 1,001,421 votes (2 seats); Cooperative Natcco Network Party – 943,529 votes (2 seats); ABONO – 766,615 votes (2 seats); Bayan Muna – 746,019 votes (2 seats); An Waray – 711,631 votes (2 seats); Agricultural Sector Alliance of the Philippines, Inc. (AGAP) – 515,501 votes (1 seat); Alliance for Barangay Concerns Party (ABC) – 469,093 votes (1 seat); Anakpawis – 445,628 votes (1 seat); Kabataan Party-list – 417,923 votes (1 seat); Abante Mindanao, Inc. The Comelec, however, decided to defer the proclamation of 12 organizations because of pending disqualification cases against them.

These groups are Ako Bicol Political Party; Ang Galing Pinoy; Buhay Hayaan Yumabong Party-list; 1st Consumers Alliance for Rural Energy (1-CARE); Citizens' Battle Against Corruption (CIBAC); LPG Marketers Association, Inc. (LPGMA); Ang Asosayon Sang Manguguma Nga Bisaya-Ow Mangunguma, Inc. (MBIS-OWA); Association of Philippine Electric Cooperatives (APEC); Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy (ANAD); 1-UTAK; Advocacy for Teacher Empowerment Through Action Cooperation and Harmony Towards Educational Reforms (A Teacher); and Butil Farmer Party (BUTIL).

A total of 187 party-list groups ran in the 2010 elections.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said proclaimed party-list groups may still be disqualified if proven to have overspent in the May 10 polls.

Comelec Chairman Jose Melo said that party-list groups found to have overspent risk the possibility of being stopped from assuming their posts even if they won in the recently concluded elections.

Comelec Resolution 8944 said that candidates, aside from the president and vice president, can only spend P3 for every registered voter.

Republic Act 7166 also states that campaign overspending constitutes an election offense which carries a penalty of one to six years imprisonment and removal of right of suffrage or the rights to vote and be voted.

Earlier, the group Pera’t Pulitika (PAP) reported the “exorbitant” spending of party-list groups saying it runs counter to their claim of representing marginalized sectors.

The decision of the Comelec is quite unfair for party-lists who have won congressional seats. Complaints must not be entertained after the elections. I’ve read a similar article today; another party-list filed a complaint against AKB Political Party for they said that AKB doesn’t represent any marginalized group. AKB top notched the party-lists elections with an overwhelming 1.5 million of votes. Based on my analysis the leftists groups who filed the said complaints were swamped by the results they weren’t expecting that such political party novice will win, win big I mean. If they have their objections they must have filed it before the elections and not after. If they will appeal for the group’s disqualification they must be ready to face the millions of voters who have voted AKB.

Give me some rest in making post related to American Idol, Kpop culture and Philippine politics. I want to be more personal this time. I want to be a story teller hmmm; wait let me add up another word on that, I mean I want to be an effective story teller. Anytime you’re ready just do some little scroll down this page.

Have you experienced to be “defriended” in facebook or be “unfollowed” in twitter? If so what do you think was the reason? Have you done something objectionable? I haven’t suffered from any of those listed above. I was just hated by someone who was very close to me before and the reason was just a damn bread.

One morning, I was sitting on my unit when my co-worker sent some chat via gmail, and if I am not mistaken these were the exact words from her,

Co-worker: hi jeffy goodmorning, nakuha mo ung bread?

Me: Yes “co-worker” thanks

Then suddenly this “someone who was very close to me before” came close to where I am sitting. Then said “Uy banga kita kaiyan na duwa ha”

I was on the right mood to make some jokes that time and here’s my line

Me: “habo ko daw sakuya man lang ini tigwalat ni co-worker, dai man baga ki nakalaag na pangaran mo dian oh, pangaran ko man lang baga”

Someone who was very close to me before: “Oh cge di dai!!!”

As I was saying the things I have said was just jokes and nothing but pure jokes.

Way back when both of us were still ok, I always share my food with him. I mean I am not selfish when it comes to food. “ Sa tingin nyo kung katakawan yun, binigyan ko kaya sya nang mga pagkain na meron ako noon?” “Wala akong pagkain na hindi ko i-shinare sa kanya”.

Lesson learned: Wag Ipagkait ang Tinapay

The end of the competition marked a new beginning for Lee’s singing career not only that, it was also the signal for Simon Cowell’s goodbye from being one of the competition’s judges.

Lee’s name is one of Yahoo’s top searches for the day but it seems that Mamasox edge him out this time.The American singer-songwiter and paint salesman from Mount Prospect Illinois is just a spot below his rival Crystal Bowersox.

I’m always checking my blog and I am so overwhelmed upon learning that I have received a lot of visits from all around the globe. I am so happy that there are a lot of people who appreciates my blog, I met new friends and received some comments which means that my blogging is somewhat to be considered effective.

When I checked the most visited page I’ve found out that my post with regards to Alexander Lee Eusebio got the highest number of visits, because of that I decided to make another post for Alex.

Eusebio is a Filipino-sounding last name but he’s father is not a Filipino citizen nor he has some Filipino blood, it’s just that he’s father was born in Macau acquiring the Portugese last name Eusebio. Take note that in my previous post I‘ve mentioned that his father is a sort of Portugese-Chinese and his mother is a pure blooded Korean.

Going back 2 or 3 months the Korean boy band U-Kiss visited the Philippines and the group actually performed in GMA 7’s Party Pilipinas and Master Showman. I don’t think what DJ Mo twister have in mind during those times wherein he tweeted in his tweeter account this phrases “"these kpop guys dont look gay. they look like lesbians...i'm sorry all you kpop fans but you cant tell me that's a heterosexual man. you just cant." Well hmmm actually I don’t know what to say but to the U-Kiss fans these words are not good to their ears that they requested for some public apology from the host. Gibo: The Best President We Never Had

Gibo will never do what Jamby, Nic Perlas, and Jc De los Reyes did; he will never say “nadaya ako”. He’s an intelligent man; he will not question the results of the first ever Philippine Automated Elections, I know him. He’s the type of person who knows how to accept defeat and that’s the reason why he conceded over Noynoy.

My vote, the vote coming from family and friends are not wasted; going for Gibo was not a waste of vote. We are happy that in the history of Philippine elections, a righteous candidate fought with so much integrity. Mr. Gibo, you’re the man. We made our vote an informed one.

Honestly speaking Gibo is the president we never had and I must agree with one former, I just forgot her name, she said “We missed the flight but he gave us hope”, natalo man sya but he really gave us hope, a hope that this dying country will have a such leader. The game isn’t over for him. A lot of people are now calling him to run for the senate this coming 2013 mid-elections, and I must say that he should accept it. The country is challenging him, a challenge to continue his visions.

I wish to see him in the senate by 2013 and in the Malacañang Palace by 2016. He is the one that this country needs. Sulong Gibo.

MY CHOICE

The presidential candidate I will vote for:
•articulates a vision, a sense of mission and a sensible action agenda;
•has a good grasp of complex issues, and explains them simply and clearly;
•maintains equanimity despite the rigors of the campaign and the adversities of political battle;
•avoids personality politics; stays focused on the issues;
•avoids negative campaigning to give the voters the opportunity to understand his platform and how he intends to govern and serve;
•remains cool under fire, takes tough stands, makes hard decisions, sticks to his convictions especially in the most difficult circumstances;
•is a good listener and integrator of good ideas;
•is a proven negotiator and will be able to hold his own in the competitive arena of geopolitics and international relations;
•is genuinely presidential, a natural leader;
•is comfortable with outliers.

My choice for president respects institutions and works through the system. He is a reformer; dedicated public servant; circumspect politician; served in two branches of government; respects judicial processes; has demonstrated moral courage within his area of responsibility. He remains focused on serving higher interests, namely, national interests. He has a keen sense of nationhood that is crucial for anyone aspiring for the presidency.

My presidential candidate is an underdog even in his own party, stabbed in the front, back and sides by treacherous party mates and principals who have come to realize that he is his own man and cannot be controlled to do their bidding, meaning, protect them for their past wrongdoings once he's president. This should dispel presumptions or fears of coddling. They’ve called for his resignation and endorsed a rival party’s candidate. He is a non- traditional politician that prefers the high to the low road.

He has received basic, higher and postgraduate education from schools that I identify with; and comes from a decent family. His father, famously, could not be swayed to do the bidding of the dictator’s wife, and kept faith with the principle that public office is a public trust. That reflects strength of character based on strong ethics-based convictions.

I say this with a healthy respect for all the other candidates, black propaganda aside, some of who are well known to me. They too could or would be a breath of fresh air and sunlight in a room darkened and smelly from accumulated filth like, for example, Noynoy, Eddie, Nicky, Dick and possibly even a transformed Erap. Their past, fact or fiction, is not as important as to what they are today and what they could be tomorrow. However, the candidate of my choice after months of keen observation stands a head taller than the rest.

Lakas Kampi sees 15-M gibo votes from three blocs

MANILA, May 7 — Administration-backed Lakas-Kampi coalition expects three blocs to deliver for its standard bearer ex-defense chief Gilberto 'Gibo' Teodoro votes from nearly a third of the country's estimated 50 million-strong electorate.

"Our computation shows he can potentially get about 15 million votes," said Lakas-Kampi acting chairperson and Occidental Mindoro province Lone District Rep. Ma. Amelita Villarosa.

She cited as sources of such votes pro-Teodoro blocs in Cebu province and northern Luzon.

"Our allies committed to deliver from these areas one million votes and eight million votes, respectively," she said.

Lakas-Kampi is also looking forward to getting votes from the Kingdom of Jesus Christ congregation particularly as its head Pastor Apollo Quiboloy already endorsed Teodoro's candidacy.

Teodoro's spokesperson Mike Toledo pointed out some six million people in the Philippines and abroad comprise this congregation.

Such shows extent of potential command votes Teodoro can get from this group, Toledo noted.

Presidential preference surveys of PulseAsia (PA) and Social Weather Stations (SWS) continue showing Teodoro trailing behind frontrunners Sen. Benigno "NoyNoy" Aquino III (Liberal Party), Sen. Manny Villar (Nacionalista Party) and ex-president Joseph Estrada (Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino) who's eyeing a Malacanang comeback this year.

Villarosa noted the blocs' support for Teodoro is boosting optimism of Lakas-Kampi for his victory in the 2010 presidential race, however.

"It's clear our candidate has a chance to win," Villarosa noted.

She also said people already began recognizing Teodoro's capability to lead the country so more of them are backing his presidential bid.

"We're happy about this development because he's qualified for the nation's highest post," she said.

Earlier, former Malacanang election lawyer Romulo Macalintal expressed optimism Teodoro can still register a come-from-behind electoral victory.

Macalintal's optimism stems from his belief that voters still maintain independence in choosing whom to elect despite presidential preference surveys showing Teodoro in the lower rank.

"I believe voters won't allow themselves to be dictated upon by surveys," Macalintal said.

He noted voters musn't totally rely on surveys as history shows these can prove erroneous.

Presidents Fidel Ramos of the Philippines and Harry Truman of the United States were dark horses and didn't top surveys during their time but both emerged as poll winners, he recalled.

"We can't say who'll win until the elections are over," Macalintal said. (PNA)

On Monday even though I will not be able to vote, I will still be vigilant, I will watch over the votes and make sure that no sign of cheating will be seen.

GILBERT Teodoro’s party, Lakas-Kampi-CMD, said on Tuesday the endorsement by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, who heads the six-million-strong Davao-based Kingdom of Jesus Christ congregation, will be the “icing on the victory cake.”

Though trailing in surveys, Teodoro, the party noted, also took 39 percent of the 22,000 votes cast by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) from April 28 to 30. This, according to the exit polls conducted by the Campaigns and Images firm during the absentee voting.

Lakas-Kampi-CMD president Francis Manglapus said these developments indicate a bandwagon for Teodoro, who has already sewed up support from One Cebu, which pledged to deliver a million votes. He added the endorsement by Quiboloy is but one of many indications of a “snowballing of support” for Teodoro, who has only been credited with 9 percent of the vote by the Social Weather Stations Inc. (SWS) and Pulse Asia.

Another group in the National Capital Region (NCR), Palit Galing under Suzette Salazar, said it has already mobilized 250,000 volunteers to secure 2.5 million votes for the candidate in the metropolis.

Lakas-Kampi-CMD said it expects 1,200 municipal mayors nationwide to deliver 10,000 votes each for a total of 12 million votes.

Gibo is supported by the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines , the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) and about 50 governors belonging to the League of Provinces of the Philippines.

One Cebu has not been affected by the surveys and it said it would campaign hard for Teodoro.

As far as Palit Galing movement is concerned, it said more and more young voters, including young professionals, are going over to Gibo owing to the negative campaigning being waged by the camps of Sen. Noynoy Aquino and Sen. Manny Villar.

Quiboloy’s endorsement is not just the icing, it’s a part of the base, I mean it’s a very big thing in the victory of Gibo. Everyday more and more Filipinos are backing for Gibo, and this is because they believe that he is the best qualified candidate for the position. Just yesterday I browsed over He’s page in facebook and I was overwhelmed to found that most of Gibo’s supporters are of my age, they are young and good thing they are tired of the traditional politics. Hmm should I say that let us not repeat the mistakes of our elders during the past elections. LOL.

MANILA, Philippines -- The influential religious congregation Iglesia Ni Cristo has announced early this morning that it is endorsing the presidential bid of Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and his runningmate Sen. Mar Roxas.

A statement released by INC head Eduardo Manalo said they would be supporting the Aquino-Roxas tandem in the May 10 national and local elections.The announcement was made before the INC members during the religious services around 5:45 a.m. today.

The religious group, whose global membership runs up to millions, also came out with a list of senatorial candidates it would be endorsing among its members.

Included in the list are Rozzano "Ruffy" Biazon, Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., Pilar Juliana Cayetano, Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Franklin Drilon, Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Ralph Recto, Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, Manuel "Lito" Lapid, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., and TG Guingona.

Historically, the INC has been known to deliver substantial number of votes to candidates which the church leadership has endorsed. In the past, INC supported the candidacies of Presidents Ferdinand Marcos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Arroyo.

My Opinion

This election everything will be different, I must say that INC will not be that effective in endorsing Noynoy, it will not be a block vote from their group; history will repeat it for the 2^nd Cojuanco. If you can still remember Danding Conjuanco was also endorsed by the group when it ran for the presidency but Ramos won instead. Compared to Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s group, Iglesia ni Cristo does not promise the so called block vote which the Noynoy-Mar tandem is expecting.

I have my friends online, they belong to INC but they are still going for GIBO. Well I cannot blame them for choosing him. Just one more thing, I am very thankful for I am Catholic, our church leaders gives us the freedom of choosing our own candidates, they aren’t dictating us.

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Evangelist Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ the Name Above Every Name congregation last night endorsed Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard-bearer Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro for president in the May 10 elections. Quiboloy also endorsed Liberal Party’s Sen. Manuel Roxas II for vice president.The pastor repeatedly said in earlier interviews that the presidential candidate he would choose would be the “Father God’s choice” as it would not only be his own choice but that of his entire congregation which has more than six million voters.

In reaching his decision, Quiboloy reportedly secluded himself in intense prayer at his Prayer Mountain in Barangay Tamayong this city for the past three days, before coming down for his church’s global worship services last night attended by more than 50,000 followers.

The pastor had deferred to last night the announcement of his chosen presidential bet which supposedly was to take place last April 25 when he celebrated his 60th birthday. Teodoro, as Quiboloy’s chosen presidential bet, was already clear as early as April 25 when the pastor hinted that his personal choice is somebody who is “magaling at matalino” which jibes with Teodoro’s “Galing at Talino” campaign slogan.

Teodoro was among the presidential candidates who attended Quiboloy’s Disney-themed birthday celebration aside from Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino’s Joseph Estrada; Nacionalista Party’s Manuel Villar; Senators Richard Gordon and Jamby Madrigal, fellow evangelist Eddie Villanueva, and environmentalist Nicanor Perlas.

Liberal Party presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III did not attend Quiboloy’s birthday party and also snubbed the pastor’s Sukatan 2010 presidential forum held here last March 9.

In a phone interview shortly after he arrived on a Learjet at the old Davao International Airport, Teodoro told The STAR he did not know exactly what to expect except that there would be some “revelation” during last night’s Global Thanksgiving and Worship Presentation of Quiboloy’s congregation held at the open field of the ACQ compound.

“There would be some kind of a ‘revelation’ during the prayer service, I was told. But I am really thankful to the good pastor from whom I also seek spiritual guidance,” Teodoro said, adding that he was indeed invited to the congregation’s worship services last night.

Quiboloy’s announcement last night was also viewed worldwide over satellite television as the congregation also owns the Sonshine Media Network Services with channels in different continents in the world.

Teodoro was said to be among the first presidential candidates who paid Quiboloy a visit on separate occasions since the official campaign period last Feb. 9.

Quiboloy earlier told newsmen that Teodoro was the only presidential candidate who really spent time with him, the whole day of Feb. 10.

Teodoro first visited Quiboloy at the ACQ compound near the Davao International Airport in the morning. They had lunch at the prayer mountain in Tamayong and ended the day with dinner back at the airport compound.

Gibo downplays survey results

Teodoro, meantime, also stressed yesterday said he does not only answer to the 2,000 faceless individuals who were asked in surveys, but most importantly, to the millions of Filipinos across the country.

Speaking before an estimated 6,000 people at the Siquijor capitol, Teodoro said in Filipino, “There are those who are saying that there’s no need to talk to the people because they’ve already won. They ask 2,000 people and that’s it, they serve only 2,000 people.”

“I will no longer just ask the 2,000. I will face all of you personally, 90 million Filipinos, I answer to you. I’ll go straight to you,” he said during the rally a week before the May 10 elections.

“We will all stand and we will not agree not to be heard, no matter how poor a person is, because his vote is sacred, and nobody can say that that vote is taken for granted,” he said.

Locals lined the streets, cheering and waving green flags, and trooped to the capitol square to show their support for the ruling party bet.

Teodoro’s spokesman, lawyer Michael Toledo, said the administration standard-bearer went straight to the issues at hand, “disdaining mudslinging which has been the campaign trend of late among certain candidates in this year’s balloting.”

For the picturesque island of Siquijor, Teodoro focused on the need to boost its ecotourism potential.

“Three hundred tourists arrive here every day, so that’s almost 90,000 tourists a year. That’s a good sign,” he said.

Siquijor Vice Gov. Andre Cortes said people in his province support Teodoro because he does not resort to mudslinging and instead sticks to his platform.

Cortes said Siquijor’s six municipalities and all 134 barangays will go for Teodoro.

“We expect a landslide for Gibo (Teodoro’s nickname) here. We have done our own verification on the ground, and more than 80 percent of votes will go to Gibo,” Gov. Shane Fua said.

Teodoro also campaigned in Dumaguete City on Saturday where local leaders likewise vowed to give him victory in the elections. - With Paolo Romero

Siobhan Magnus Eliminated on Idol

“Casey James, its Casey James” This was the exact words I uttered before Ryan announced the name of the latest eliminated Idol. Siobhan was eliminated after getting the least number of combined votes from calls and text. This time I want to blame all Americans for letting go of Siobhan. Crystal now remains to be the lone female contestant which I think will make the remaining time of idol boring.

Once again Siobhan sang her favorite song “Think” and instead of crying as what other idols do, she performed with all of her hearts giving her best and making that performance a memorable one.

Gibo No. 2 in latest survey

Sen. Manuel “Manny” Villar of the Nacionalista Party (NP) remains on top but Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential candidate Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. has now jumped to second place after having overtaken Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III of the Liberal Party (LP) in the latest survey conducted nationwide by an independent research firm three weeks after the start of the official campaign period for national posts in the May 10 elections.

Teodoro’s rating of 24% in the survey conducted by the Campaigns and Image Group during the week ending March 7 was enough to dislodge from second place Aquino, whose rating has been steadily declining as shown in the three previous surveys of voters’ preferences for President done by this marketing research firm with the Parish Pas-toral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

Conducted among 5,100 adults of voting age nationwide, this survey asked the respondents the question: “Who among the 10 presidential candidates do you think is capable of governing the Philippines and for whom will you be voting for the presi-dency?”

Villar remained the survey frontrunner with a rating of 31%, up by 3 percentage points from his previous rating of 27% in the earlier survey done in the week ending Feb. 17. Teodoro followed with 24%, which is a significant increase of 6 percentage points from his previous rating of 18% in the Feb. 17 survey.

Aquino dropped 8 percentage points to 20% from his previous rating of 28% in the Feb. 17 survey. When Campaigns and Image first did its survey of voter’s preferences for President in Dec. 2009, Aquino’s rating was at 31% and remained un-changed a month later when the group conducted its January survey.

Former President Joseph Estrada landed in fourth place with 13%, which was an increase of 6 percentage points from his rating of 7% in the previous survey.

Sen. Richard Gordon got 5% and TV evangelist Eddie Villanueva, 2% in the March survey where 4% of the voters were still undecided on their choice of presidential candidate for the May 10 elections.

Campaigns & Image said that to gauge the governance capability rating (GCR) of each candidate, it also asked respondents the question: How do you rate your preferred candidate in accordance with the following parameters (leadership, experience, integrity, transparency, platform and accessibility)?

Based on this question, Villar got a GCR of 81%, followed by Teodoro with 74%, Aquino with 70%, and Estrada 62%.

“This survey by the Campaigns and Image Group is by far the most comprehensive, easy-to-follow presentation because, unlike its Pulse Asia, TNS and SWS counter-parts, it pinpoints the reasons for any change—increase or decrease—in the governance capability rating (GCR) of candidates,” the survey group said.

“The GCR includes the voters’ perception on individual qualification (leadership ability and management experience), track record (accessibility, integrity, and transparency) and relevance of platform.”

Campaigns and Image noted that “there is a corresponding percentage weight for each of the parameters that add up to a candidate’s GCR.”

It pointed out that Villar remained the top spender in TV advertising during the period when the survey was conducted.

Teodoro’s jump in the surveys, on the other hand, could be attributed to “the political machinery of the administration party and (his efforts of) touching base with local government politicians seeking re-election into various offices,” Campaigns and Image noted.

“Because most of the provincial and mayoralty candidates of the Liberal Party are over 65 years old, they had been unable to shore up (Aquino’s) ascendancy among young and middle-aged voters,” Campaigns and Image said.

American Idol Cuts Tim Urban, Alex Lambert Welcomes Exciting Hollywood Life

At last American Idol viewers made a very good decision last night. Tim Urban is out of AI after getting the lowest percentage of votes from combined calls and text from the viewers. I must admit that Tim improved during his previous performances but I guess it’s really his time to go. He should be the one eliminated instead of my Idol Didi Benami.

Anyways I’ve heard that American idol contestant Adam Lambert was offered a sixth spot on the show cast “If I Can Dream” by American Idol brainchild Simon Fuller. Adam is really moving on and now with a new hairstyle. Goodluck Alex.

American Idol Season 9 top 7: Outstanding Performances by Lee DeWyze, Siobhan Magnus and Crstal Bowersox

Oh I forgot to update my blog, I was too busy at work and the internet connection sucks. Should I ask for an apology for making this post too late? Please forgive me; I swear not do it again. Last Night the remaining 7 idol hopefuls performed, singing their inspirational songs of choice. Let me just give you a recap of what happened and what the judges have for our idols.

Casey James – Don’t Stop

I just don’t appreciate Casey James these previous performances, I mean, you can easily predict his next performance based on his previous performance. He’s not growing anymore, his performance yesterday was just a repetition of what he did last week.

Randy: It was a good performance but not your best performance. Give me a little something else.
Ellen: Great guitar playing. I have to agree though. You have to be great. You’re consistently good but nobody is going to be talking about that tomorrow.
Kara: It’s jam band. That’s not showing what makes you different.
Simon: That wasn’t particularly inspiring. No emotion. There was no originality. It was a lazy song choice.

Lee DeWyze -The Boxer

I applaud Lee for delivering a solid performance. He owns the song every time he performs. I am sure that he will stay in the top 5.

Randy: It’s about artists this year. You are a great artist.
Ellen: Beautiful song choice and you have so much soul and depth to you we’re seeing more and more of.
Kara: It shows clearly when someone feels connected to a song.
Simon: The difference between you and the first performance is staggering. That was sincere and inspirational.

Tim Urban - Better Days

Though he missed a lot of notes, I can see the growth that Tim Urban is taking these previous performances. I just hope that his sweet smile can make him stay.

Randy: It was okay, good karaoke
Ellen: You’re like soup of the day. Sometimes, I like the soup. Today, I didn’t like the soup.
Kara: It wasn’t the best execution
Simon: If this had been the first time we saw you, we’d be quite impressed. Last week, I did. This might have been a step too high for you in believing the performance. You have improved over the weeks. It was a little bit of a letdown.

Aaron Kelly - I Believe I Can Fly

Aaron fits a boyband, I mean his voice really fits a vocalist for a boyband. He’s song choices these days are growing bigger and bigger he’s targeting for giant songs which I think that he can still take.

Randy: You picked a giant song… you got a huge voice and pure vocal talent. You did a good job with such a giant song.
Ellen: There was a time in the 70s I believed I could fly. I thought you handled it real good.
Kara: Watching that was like taking off. Somewhere down the runway, you were flying.
Simon: You really gave it your all but in the real world, if we had heard that on the radio, I would have turned that off after 10 seconds. It wasn’t very good.

Siobhan Magnus – When You Believe

After Didi was voted out I turned on to Siobhan and add up Crystal. Siobhan is really unique; she adds spice to a very simple song and makes it current. Well with regards to dress, there’s nothing wrong with it except for Simon.

Randy: It was just okay for me.
Ellen: I disagree. That’s more confirmation why you’re here.
Kara: Technically, it was really well sung. It felt very dramatic. I want to hang out more than buy your record. I still don’t know who you are.
Simon: That wasn’t the right song for you. The arrangement was too old-fashioned. The leaves distracted me on the closeups. Are they butterflies? I just found the whole thing odd and all over the place. It’s a shame.

Michael Lynche – Hero

I can say that “Big Mike’ is back and he deserves the save of the judges last week. I just love this cute giant and the way he sing. Simon thought that he’s song of choice for this week is not fit for an inspirational.

Randy: You held your own dawg. It worked out.
Ellen: You did a great job.
Kara: It wasn’t my favorite performance. You did not cut through. The song became unrecognizable.
Simon: You sang it pretty well. But once again, to remind us, the theme tonight is inspirational. That was about Spider-Man. It felt a little artificial to me.

Crystal Bowersox- People get Ready

My favorite performance of the week, I must say that MAMA SOX stepped into a new level of performance by giving up his guitar. She looks great in her black long gown. In the last line of his performance Crystal started to cry but over all her performance rocks the idol stage. I love you crystal.

Randy: That was unbelievable!
Ellen: You have never looked more beautiful. You keep evolving and growing. That was so beautiful.

Arroyo adviser Joey Salceda deserts Lakas in favor of LP

Albay Governor Jose Sarte Salceda, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s economic adviser, on Wednesday confirmed talks that he was bolting the ruling Lakas-Kampi-CMD party to support college classmate Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, the Liberal Party’s standard bearer. "Last Monday, I accepted the challenge of my Ateneo classmate Noynoy (Aquino’s nickname) to become the Bicol regional chairman of the Liberal Party. My task is to make him win in Bicol on May 10," Salceda, who is abroad, said in an e-mailed statement.

The Bicol Region has a voting population of more than 2.8 million based on the Commission on Elections records as of January 2010. Salceda said he was supposed to announce his move on April 20. He added that he would have wanted the LP to give him more time to notify Lakas-Kampi-CMD and President Arroyo. "I would like to thank them especially our dear President for the unique opportunity to work with them in the field of public service, economic policy and social reengineering," he said.

Salceda added that Aquino and running mate Sen. Manuel Roxas II had given him a free hand regarding the local politics in Albay. "The only thing that changed is that I would now campaign for Noynoy for President. Everything else remains the same," he said. Salceda claimed an Aquino presidency could increase it instantly by 8 percentage points, or almost P642 billion more in private investments in the first 18 months.

"This would create 642,000 [more] jobs on top of the organic capacity of the economy for job creation," he added.

After saving Michael Lynche from being eliminated last week, saving is not anymore an option for the judges. This week Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens were eliminated from the race to being the next American Idol. This result was made after the two garnered the lowest percentage of votes from calls and texts. Season 9’s is now trimmed down to 7 which also mean that the final judgment is nearly approaching. I’m feeling sad for the both of them because I like them, I mean I love them both, they are good singers and performers it’s just that their vocal prowess wasn’t able to convince America. Let me give a credit to mentor Adam Lambert for being a “real mentor” to the judges compared to Miley Cyrus.

Venus Raj won’t get special treatment: DFA

MANILA, Philippines – Dethroned beauty queen Maria Venus Raj will not be given any special treatment when she applies for a Philippine passport, an official of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday.

DFA spokesman Eduardo Malaya said Raj will have to go through the right process before she can obtain a passport.

He announced the creation of an ad hoc committee to look into the case of the Filipino-Indian beauty from Camarines Sur.

According to Malaya, this is to avoid any perception that the department is giving the beauty queen a preferential treatment.

The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) stripped Raj of her crown due to inconsistencies in her birth records. BPCI later announced that it was allowing the beauty queen to reclaim her title "for humanitarian reasons."

The dethroned 2010 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe can only reclaim her crown if she can secure a valid Philippine passport.

"We have reassessed the situation pertaining to Miss Maria Venus Raj and have decided, for humanitarian reasons, that if she is able to obtain a valid Philippine passport, we will reinstate her as the reigning Bb. Pilipinas-Universe," the BPCI said in a statement issued on Saturday.

Have you heard the news tonight, yesterday and the previous days? If so who are the top personalities named? If I’m not mistaken the two presidential aspirants are the ones making the news in the past few days. The Yellow said that the Orange doesn’t suffer from poverty during its childhood years and it’s just acting like one to get the sympathy of the masses to vote for him. The Orange says that Yellow suffered from a serious psychological trauma during the 90’s and that it is not fit to the run the presidency. Look at them, are they the type of leaders we want for our country? They are obviously bashing each other; we only need a handful of mud for the both of them to start an actual mudslinging.

Noynoy Aquino and Manny Villar, lets both name them and let me stop from hiding their names to their official campaign colors. They are making so much noise and honestly they are effective in getting the attention of people. They are too loud to ignore, the noise that they are making irritates me, oops not only me, also millions of Filipinos.

The controversies that the two are facing today makes me realize that my decision to go for Green is a right one. The Administration bet Gilberto Teodoro is not as famous as the two but I must say that in terms of knowledge, Gibo is way better than the two. I was not able to register to be able to vote but I’m making my way to show my support for Gibo. Go Green, Go Gibo.

Big Mike nearly eliminated on IDOL.

American Idol should start adopting the lines “expect the unexpected” as their official tagline after Didi Benami was unexpectedly eliminated last week and add up the inclusion of Michael Lynche on the bottom group. The weirdest thing is when Ryan Seacrest revealed that “Big Mike” is the one who should “sing for his life. That’s an almost “life to death” experience for Mr. Lynche.

After getting the lowest percentage of votes “BM” was given his chance to convince the Judges to let him stay. Given the freedom to chose his song of choice, American Idol Season 9’s incredible hulk sang “This womans word” which he believes to be his best piece so far in the competition.

After “singing for his life” the Judges came up with a unanimous decision and that is to save the gentle teddy bear. Big Mike was given the chance to prove himself once again in the upcoming performance but the consequence is that next week, 2 hopefuls will be sent home. Argggg. I hope to see Tim Urban going home but let’s see if America will still be a victim of Tim’s smile.

American Idol Top 9: The Lennon-McCartney Night

After giving tribute to the rolling stones, this week, the idols sang the greatest hits of two of the world’s best music composers, John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Whom do you think performed well and who deserves a painful “kick out”.

Here’s a recap of their performances and yeah the usual thing here is that I will give my own verdict.

1. Aaron Kelly- “The Long Time and Winding Road”

I must agree with what Simon said, he said that Mr. Degeneres, Oops I mean Mr. Kelly, sorry for that can’t help it because they have the same face. Ok Going back to what Simon said “was very old fashioned, very boring. You have to take some risks and do some research on that song.” Aaron is doing and doing the same thing he must get new clothes. You know what I mean.

2. Katie Stevens-“Let It Be”

For me it’s her best performance to date. Guess what, Kara and Simon argued to whom the credits should be given because of Katie’s better performance this week. Hmm I think it’s Ellen, LOL.

3. Andrew Garcia-“Can’t Buy Me Love”

Of course no one can buy love, and Mr. D seconded that, hahaha. I hate Simon saying that the performance was corny and old fashioned and irrelevant. What if we let Simon perform like what the Idols are doing, maybe he’ll understand how it is difficult to be there.

4. Michael Lynche-“Eleanor Rigby”

No Doubt, Big Mike is the Incredible Hulk of AI and that’s not only because of his size but majorly because he has a very powerful voice, and I must agree with Kara saying that BM’s vocals were amazing.

5. Crystal Bowersox-“Come Together”

Once again Mama Sox gave a better spice to the song, I mean I love the song as a classic but I love it better after Mama Sox gave her own rendition of the song. Randy said that it’s a new Solid Performance from Crystal and yeah Simon said “That’s a performance I can hear on the radio”. They are both correct.

6. Tim Urban-“All my Lovin”

Honestly, this is the first time I appreciate the singing of Tim, for me it’s better than Hallelujah.

And what can Simon Tell about it, “Taking everything into consideration, you did well tonight. No gimmicks. You didn’t try to over sing it.” Hmm looks like a good feedback from the Lion.

7. Casey James-“Jealous Guy”

What can you say about the hair? Isn’t it cute? Yeah it is. How about the singing, Judges?

Randy -“I loved seeing the sensitive side of you.”

Ellen-“I was moved by it. You have a great voice… and pretty hair.” I told you, she’ll appreciate the hair.

Kara-“you pushed yourself”

Simon-“Goldilocks- I think it was the best performance of the night so far. You put your stamp on the song.”

8. Siobhan Magnus-“Across the Universe”

Whoa, I was really amazed seeing the her singing a different song but I just thought it did work for her. Our Judges appreciated her performance and Randy said “A little sleepy but I love the artistry in you.”

9. Lee DeWyze-“Hey Jude”

I missed Didi upon hearing that Lee will sing “Hey Jude” To be fair to him, he owned the song, he put a very unique interpretation and it worked. How about the Bag pipe? Holy cow I was really surprised.

Based on their performances I think that Aaron Kelly will belong to the bottom group and the other two I don’t know. Let’s just see the results by tomorrow.

This night before going to work, I opened the TV and watch for the latest happening in AI. I’m quite confident that Didi will still stay though I’ve heard that her last performance was a little bit bad but you know what, I was so shocked to hear Ryan Seacrest calling Didi’s name and telling her to join the bottom group. I was thinking of Tim Urban going home tonight but whoa, the AI shocker is back, after sending home Lilly Scott this time it’s DIDI. I feel very sorry for her, I mean, I’ve been watching the Idol because of her, she’s one of the reasons why I watch the show. Too bad she’s going home but I believe that she will go far. GO DIDI.

Here I go again, I’m crazy searching the web about Alexander Lee Eusebio, I’m just curious if this guy has a Filipino blood running through his veins. Paige Miles is out of AI after getting the lowest percentage of votes. The result though is not a shocker anymore Paige’s performance last night. I am already expecting her or Tim Urban to be voted out. She wasn’t given any chance by the judges to sing the song of her choice during the elimination, "Regardless of your singing, we're not going to save you. You're going home tonight; we're not going to give you false hope. This isn't working." Simon said.

Joining Page Miles in the bottom group are Tim Urban and Katie Stevens. Well if it’s Tim Urban alone that’s fine with me, but Katie? What the hell are they thinking? She performed well, far better than Tim Urban.

Well based on their performances I must applaud 3 persons

1. Aaron Kelly-though he’s the youngest among the idols, his voice is just beyond the expected, I mean this guy is absolutely amazing. Randy said that it wasn’t the perfect performance but he loves the way how Aaron sang the first verse. As usual E is always a fan of Aaron. I must agree with what Kara, she said that it’s the best song choice of the night and that Aaron already knows how to pick songs. What I love with him is his stage presence, once his there, he owns it. I cannot blame Simon for branding him as the “little Tyler”

2. Siobhan Magnus-she is so unique, she doesn’t care about what will other people think about her and I guess that’s the same reason why randy loves her very much. This week I was once again amazed with what she did to the last part of the song. She’s a singing monster but that’s in a positive way. I wish to see her in a very different aura next week; I want her to make a slow song. Ellen wants to ask for more, same with me but as what I said, I want to see her different.

3. Lee Dewyze- Lee is growing up so fast, as what Kara said the improvements are tremendous. Ellen said “My favorite pen is back”, sometimes I appreciate Ellen for doing some humorous analogy. Lee just raised the bar for himself and I’m watching over him, he has a lot of potential.

Below are the Idols who truly deserve a Big Boo.

1. Paige Miles-I guess there’s nothing wrong with the song choice, I ‘m a big fan of “against all odds” but it’s just disgusting to hear Paige singing the song. It was really terrible to the nth power. Kara said that it looks like Paige has stopped competing.

2. Tim Urban-Corny, corny, corny, forgive me guys but he’s really corny. What I hate is that he pretends to be someone who is already famous, reaching for the hands of the audience, OMG. Worst than Paige.

Honestly speaking I don’t want Miley to be the Idol’s mentor, her tips are very elementary, the basic and nothing but the basic tips. Even a 6 years old knows can give such huh. Look what happened to Andrew, Miley told him to put down his guitar and look what happened, disaster.

Lets see who’s going home tonight. I just hope that there will be no shocker anymore, I don’t want to see another Lilly Scott leaving.

As Expected Lacey Brown is out of the competition, actually she performed well but that isn’t enough to ask for America’s sweet vote. During the past elimination rounds Lacey was on that so called “danger zone”. She’s always with the bottom group. To be fair with Lacey I’d rather vote out Tim Urban first, but I cannot blame the people for voting lacey out.

Siobhan together with Crystal, Michael, Casey , Didi, Lee and Aaron Kelly emerged as the favorites while Paige, Andrew and yeah Tim Urban was the bottom group.

The time has come for the idols to perform again in a bigger stage and a larger crowd. Yesterday night, the 12 contestants who survived last week’s judgment showed off their singing prowess and of course they need to convince not only the judges but also America that they are the righteous one to be hailed the next American Idol.

Of all the performances, I must say that this one is their best performance yet, it’s the pressure that pushes them to perform better week after week. I’m not saying that I was satisfied by them all, only a few and I will repeat it again, not all but only a few.

Thank god, AI was able to come up with the idea of giving the audiences the chance of having a glimpse of the contestants’ life at home.

This week American Idol gives tribute to the world’s best rock band, The Rolling Stones. So, who among the twelve satisfied me? Hmmm. Before I answer that, let’s have first a recap of their performances.

Based on their performances Didi, Crystal, Aaron, Siobhan, and Michael performed the best and Tim Urban or Lacey Brown deserves to be out as soon as possible. Too bad, Lilly and Alex should be on their position now.

American Idol Farewell: The Third Batch (Lilly Scott is Out....this is not real…I wish)

I cannot describe the word to say, a word more intense than “disgusting”. I was so shocked to learn that Lilly Scott is out of the competition. I was thinking of Katie Stevens or Paige Miles. Lilly is a unique singer and I just think that she deserves to stay.

Joining Lilly in the row of the girls is Katelyn Epperly, yeah I expect her to be eliminated after her terrible performance last night.

In the gents side, Alex Lambert sings his last farewell song, too bad, I am just starting to appreciate his music. Joining Alex is Todrick Hall, honestly I want him to be out of American Idol. I don’t know. I know that he can sing but I just don’t like him, that’s it.

The Power of Voice, I mean the Boys.

Since the start of American Idol Season 9, I have this instinct in me that this season is for the girls; I guess I need to start doubting that instinct. Yesterday the Season 9’s top 8 guys performed and I was wowed by the performance of some, I repeat, just some not all.

Here’s a recap of their latest performance

1. Lee DeWyze- “Fireflies” (Owl City)

2. Alex Lambert- “Trouble” (Ray LaMontagne)

3. Tim Urban- “Hallelujah” (Jeff Buckley)

4. Andrew Garcia- “Genie in a Bottle” (Christina Aguilera)

5. Casey James- “ You’ll Think of Me” (Keith Urban)

6. Aaron Kelly- “ I’m Already There” (Lonestar)

7. Todrick Hall- “Somebody to Love” (Queen)

8. Michael Lynche – “This Woman’s Work” (Maxwell)

And based on their performances only 5 satisfied my expectations and they are:

Lee DeWyze - He’s so brave to give “fireflies” a rock rendition.

Alex Lambert - among all, this guy is the one with a lot of improvements.

Tim Urban – What can I say, I must agree with Ellen, Tim just need to find the best song that would fit his voice.

Aaron Kelly - The voice of this guys is very powerful, I disagree with Kara, though the song was not meant for a 16 year old, the song just worked out for Aaron.

Michael Lynche – Michael is no doubt the “idol-to-beat” this season.
